Swin Cash and Cappie Pondexter scored 14 points each to help the United States finish off its European tour with a 73-63 victory over UE Sopron on Sunday night. The win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Americans (3-2), who were beaten by Ros Casares and USK Prague in their last two games. “Winning makes everything easier,” Pondexter said.

Seimone Augustus, her left knee sore and looking exhausted from an all-around effort, lifted the Minnesota Lynx to the brink of their first WNBA title. She’s not ready to relax just yet. There’s still some work to do. Augustus scored 36 points to lead Minnesota’s second-half surge, and the Lynx beat the Atlanta Dream 101-95 in Game 2 of the league championship series on Wednesday night.

Brittney Griner scored 16 of her 22 points in the second half in the United States’ 80-76 loss to Ros Casares Valencia on Wednesday night. Renee Montgomery and Sophia Young each added 12 points for the U.S. Ros Casares jumped out to a 31-19 lead behind Ann Wauters, who finished with 22 points. The Americans cut their deficit to 41-39 at the half.

Atlanta’s other pro sports teams are chipping in to support the Dream in the WNBA finals. The Braves, Falcons and Hawks have purchased a total of 1,500 upper-deck tickets for Game 3 Friday night against the Minnesota Lynx. The tickets are available at no cost on a first-come, first-serve basis to fans calling the team’s ticket office beginning Thursday morning.
