Reno, Nevada was the place where more than 400 poker players came over the weekend. On Saturday the cards flew for the Jennifer Harman Celebrity Poker Throw Down charity tournament . The poker tournament was held to benefit the Nevada SPCA. Harman is well known for her love of animals and the charity work she has done for the SPCA. The event was held at the Peppermill Resort Spa Casino, and the event marked the first poker event in the new poker room, a 5,300-square-foot poker room with 19 tables.

This Summer poker players will be able to enjoy playing their games in Marrakesh. The Marrakesh Deep Stack Open will be held in June. A Deepstack event means a poker game that has more than the normal amount of chips to start, which gives skilled players an advantage because it means they have more to work with. The poker event will take place between June 23 to June 26 and held at the Es Saadi Casino in Marrakesh. The €550 buy in will give players 50,000 starting chips, as much as five times that of similar poker events.

The latest sponsor of the upcoming WSOP is Blue Shark Optics. The company is a maker of poker sunglasses. The 2011 World Series of Poker recently removed ties to online poker rooms as sponsors, but there are still plenty of other companies that offer sponsorship. Blue Shark Optics is the “Official Poker Eyewear of the World Series of Poker” which means poker players will likely be spotted wearing the sunglasses as they play. Many poker tournaments are filled with sunglass-wearing players, and companies like Blue Shark Optics produce special eyewear for use indoors.

Gavin Smith, to name one poker pro, will play in the Federated Poker League. That is, of course, if the league launches, which many poker players doubt. The league is the brainchild of Annie Duke and Jeffrey Pollack, an invitation only league for poker pros alone. Gavin Smith has announced that he will be happy to play in the league if it launches, and Duke recently announced some criteria that suggests it may become a reality. In fact so far 218 players have received invitations to play in the poker tournaments for two, three or five years at a pop.

The first ever WPT Seminole event will come down to six players at the final table. The actual final table holds ten players, but once it is down to six it is called the TV table. The TV table will be the final players who will appear on the broadcast of the World Poker Tour show. This is the first TV table for the Florida WPT event. The final poker pros at this poker tournament are: Taylor Von Kriegenbergh, Justin Zaki, Abbey Daniels, Allen Bari, Tommy Vedes and Curt Kohlberg.

The leader after day three in the WPT Florida event is Taylor von Kriegenbergh. The World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Showdown was whittled down from 145 poker players to 51. Krigenbergh worked up to over a million dollars in poker chips during the poker game. The next poker player leading in the poker tournament was Abbey Daniels, with nearly the same amount. The next player in line has less than half of the same amount, Justin Zaki. Mike Sexton, best known as an announcer in the World Poker Tour, is also still in the event.

The Boys and Girls Club of the Bighorns will soon benefit from a weekend poker tournament. The poker game will take place as the Sixth Annual Texas Hold 'em Tournament. The fundraiser will support the Boys and Girls Club of the Bighorns as poker players come to win prizes and raise money for charity. The game will collect money to fund both the charitable donation and the prize pool, with a split of 75% and 25%. There will be as much as $5,000 paid out to the top ten players.

The poker tournament will consist of four events, totaling $1 million in guaranteed prizes, with a minimum of $200,000 for each of the events.
