One man's family will have some help thanks to the generosity of local poker players. The Martin family of China Grove will benefit from an upcoming poker run. A poker run combines poker and a motorcycle course, where participants pick up cards at various stops to try and make a poker hand and win a prize. The proceeds from the entry fees will go to help the family of Rick Martin, who died earlier in the month without life insurance, leaving his family to shoulder the burden of debt with no relief. The poker game will cost $15 to play and there will be prizes for the best and worst poker hands.

Randy Couture has put together a poker run to raise money for his own charity foundation. The UFC Hall of Famer known as The Natural will raise money for soliders. He founded the Xtreme Couture G.I. Foundation after visiting soldiers in Iraq in 2005; he himself was a soldier in the Army  from 1982 to 1988. The poker run will take place at O School Choppers in Las Vegas May 7 and cost $25 per rider and $10 per passenger.Jason Statham and Mickey Rourke, who co started in the movie Expendables with Couture, will take part in the ride.
