The next poker movie to debut is coming from an unlikely source. The creator of “Hitting the Nuts” is a Cincinnati pastor by the name of Joe Boyd. Boyd's film will be released on DVD on April 15th. While classically trained as a pastor he has also studied under Jason Sudeikis, current Saturday Night Live player. While he is in the movie he wrote it isn't as a typical poker player, but rather an Amish farmer named Ezekiel Yoder. The film has been a hobby project for Boyd, but one well received. Shown at the Cincinnati Film Festival last year it won audience choice for Best Feature Film
