Poker Revenue Up for One Company

While the world of online poker continues to find it's heading amidst the US Government attack, one poker company ha reported a substantial increase in its revenue. HeadsUp Entertainment International made the positive announcement on Friday that they are doing well. HeadsUp Entertainment International owns the Canadian Poker Player Magazine as well as the Canadian Poker Tour, which hosts poker games across the country. The Canadian Poker Player Television Network is also part of the company, and it announced that poker revenue was more than $517,000 USD in the first quarter of this year.

According to a recent press release the Hustler Casino has joined with poker group ZEN Entertainment Network. The Hustler Casino is owend by Huster magazine publisher Larry Flynt and is in Los Angeles Califorina. Online poker players who log on to the ZEN poker network can join the virtual world of the Hustler Casino and play a few poker games at virtual poker tables, games like Texas Holdem and Royla Holdem. Despite the uproar over online poker on the national front one US state is considering the legalization of online poker. The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission has been ordered to study the affects of legalizing online poker. The measure was passed by the House State Government Committee. The Racing and Gaming Commission will have until December 1st to report on if making poker games legal to play online would benefit the state. If so it would meant that taxes from online poker players would benefit the state.

The qualifiers for a massive poker tournament have begun at Station Casino. While online poker worries have slowed down many poker games, live poker tournaments like this one continue without pause. The $200,000 no limit poker championship will be held May 24-25 at Red Rock Casino. The poker tournament will consist of four events, totaling $1 million in guaranteed prizes, with a minimum of $200,000 for each of the events. A London poker club has recently undergone a special makeover, but one that will leave the club exactly the same. The Fox Poker Club was copied exactly for a virtual poker room by online poker room PKR.com. PKR.com is known of its special 3D environment, which allows poker players to manipulate their own video game style avatars. Now players can visit the Fox Poker Club in virtual space, where poker games can be played in the club from home. Club manager Chris North said that he was very impressed with the end results of the virtual makeover.

Greyhound racetracks have always been the way in for legalizing poker games in Florida, but a new law may make them irrelevant. In the past poker tournaments and cash games at these locations had to coincide with live dog races, but that may soon change. A new bill put before the Florida House would allow the racetracks to hold poker games without the races, something that will be good news for the establishments and poker players alike. Dog breeders are the major opposition to the measure, stating that such a change would put thousands of people out of work.

Online poker room PokerStars has announced they will be lowering the guaranteed prize pools of their upcoming SCOOP events. The poker games of the 2011 Spring Championship of Online Poker have prize pools that reflect the new online poker environment now that the poker room has blocked US players. The poker room has slated $45 million in guarantees when they first announced the 2011 SCOOP schedule, but now are advertising $25 million. Another change are the event start times, which now fall in European time zones.

A California resort recently announced the addition of some high tech poker machines. The G3™ Progressive Jackpot and Bonusing System was added to poker games in the casino. The Cache Creek Casino Resort had the system added to eleven of its machines. The system is supposed to increase the hit frequency of poker players as well as add to the over all game play experience for them. Earle G. Hall, President of DEQ, the developer of G3, was quoted in a press release saying that Casche Creek is a perfect match for his company's product.
