When Samuel McMaster Jr said he could repay his debt playing poker a judge decided to give him a chance. It turned out that the investment defrauder was conning the judge like he conned his victims. McMaster, a poker player, said he could earn enough playing poker to pay back the people he scammed, and State District Judge Ross Sanchez set him a goal; earn thousands of dollars a month to pay back his debt, or go to jail. After a few poker games with weak results, it became apparent that McMaster could not pull off the trick, and recently had his probation revoked and will now spend 12 years in prison.
