For two teams trying to stay perfect on the season, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M sure made a lot of mistakes. It came down to Jerrod Johnson making one too many for the Aggies. Shaun Lewis intercepted Johnson’s pass in the final seconds and Dan Bailey kicked a 40-yard field goal as time expired to lift Oklahoma State to a 38-35 victory over Texas A&M on Thursday night.

Nothing seems to be able to hold down Jose Bautista and the swing-from-your-heels Toronto Blue Jays this season, not even Francisco Liriano and spacious Target Field. Bautista hit home runs No. 53 and 54, including a grand slam, and the Blue Jays went deep six times in a 13-2 victory over the stumbling Minnesota Twins on Thursday night.

Zack Greinke did not put up the numbers he did last season, but he pitched well enough Thursday night to defeat the Tampa Bay Rays for the first time in his career. Greinke pitched seven sharp innings and the Kansas City Royals beat Tampa Bay 3-2, leaving the Rays and New York Yankees tied for the AL East lead.

Brad Snyder hit an RBI single off Heath Bell with one out in the ninth inning to lead the Chicago Cubs to a 1-0 win over San Diego on Thursday, pushing the Padres to the cusp of elimination from the playoff race. The loss reduced San Francisco’s magic number for clinching the NL West to one and idle Atlanta’s magic number for clinching the NL wild card to two.

Darrelle Revis got angry as he watched Brandon Marshall make catch after catch against the New York Jets. While his team was in Miami playing the Dolphins last Sunday night, the All-Pro cornerback was back home in New Jersey unable to do anything to help. “I was kind of upset at myself for being hurt,” Revis said Thursday.
