With minutes to go until his exclusive negotiating window was to expire, Jordan struck a deal late Friday night to buy controlling interest of the Charlotte Bobcats, putting the six-time NBA champion in charge of the money-losing team in his home state.

Lindsey Vonn’s Olympics began the way everyone expected them to, with a gold medal in the downhill, her signature event. Little went according to plan thereafter. Yes, Vonn did collect a second medal, a bronze in the super-G, but she faulted herself for making the mistake of easing up on the bottom half of the course and giving away the gold.

Apolo Anton Ohno threw up his arms in a what-can-I-do gesture and smiled. The American short track speedskater had just been disqualified in the 500 meters, but he wasn’t leaving the Vancouver Olympics empty-handed Friday night. Court records show Barry Bonds’ wife of 12 years has filed for divorce in Los Angeles. Liz Watson filed to end the couple’s marriage on Thursday. She cited irreconcilable differences, and documents state the couple have already reached a settlement agreement. Details of the agreement were not included in the initial filing.
