Rick Jackson scored 19 points and Arinze Onuaku had 17 as the two big men dominated inside, helping the No. 4 Orange rout No. 7 Villanova 95-77 on Saturday night before an NCAA on-campus record crowd of 34,616.

Steve Holcomb never flinched. Not when tasked with ending a 62-year drought for the United States in sliding’s marquee race. Not when trying to navigate the world’s most treacherous track. And not when Germany’s Andre Lange valiantly tried to hang on to his Olympic title. Holcomb handled it all Saturday, driving USA-1 to the gold medal in four-man bobsledding, the first American pilot to…

The raw numbers say it all: 8 seconds and, in typical Miller fashion, zero regrets. “You bring the noise,” he said, “and hopefully it works.” That risk-at-all-costs style brought the 32-year-old from…

An NFL spokesman said Saturday the league could change its overtime format for playoff games at a meeting next month. Under the new format, both teams would get the ball at least once unless the first team to get the ball scores a touchdown, Greg Aiello said. If the first team to get the ball makes a field goal and the other team ties the game, action would continue until a team scores again.
