Although Terrelle Pryor always has flash in his game, he went a little bit Hollywood this week. While enjoying the sun and diversions of southern California, the Ohio State quarterback sometimes sported black-framed eyeglasses that don't contain prescription lenses. Don't worry, Buckeyes fans: Pryor can see very clearly what must happen Friday for Ohio State (10-2) to end its three-game…

NEW ORLEANS — Call it the Interim Bowl, the Bizarro Bowl or the Distraction Bowl. Any of them would be appropriate. Air Force running back Jared Tew (42) carries the ball into the end zone to score as Houston cornerback Carson Blackmon (23), line backer C.J. Cavness (40), and safety Nick Saenz (41) defend during the first half of the Armed Forces Bowl NCAA college football game on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, in Fort Worth, Texas.

With Asher Clark and Jared Tew grinding out yards and Air Force controlling the ball for more than 41 minutes, there were few chances for Case Keenum and Houston's potent offense. Then when Keenum got on the field in the Armed Forces Bowl, he was often under pressure or getting picked off — or both.

That Michael Schumacher's comeback is generating such excitement shows how desperate Formula One is for a bit of good news. In all the breathless headlines about the unexpected return of the sport's most successful driver, it is being conveniently forgotten that much of the era when Schumacher greedily gobbled up his record seven world championships was as boring as watching paint dry.

And the Cubs are hoping to have more success with this former Texas Rangers outfielder than the one they signed last offseason — Milton Bradley. Byrd hit .283 with 20 homers and 89 RBIs last season for Texas.
